Hello world

I am Jason Lee, the founder of A.I. Sports, a company carefully crafted to exploit inefficiencies in the sports betting markets. While I’ve had years of experience analyzing business data in the education, tech, and financial industries, my passion has always been sports. From birth, I played sports: football, basketball, hockey, track & field, along with all the fun things like dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, wakeboards, snowboards…pretty much anything you could think of, I was game for!

I wear my sun glasses at night.. so I can, so I can
I’m on top of the world!!
I fell off the top of the world…

However, I ended up severely injuring myself multiple times…

  • 2009 – Shoulder reconstruction surgery – Torn rotator cuff, torn labrum, crushed bone, torn tenden, seperated A/C joint
  • 2010 – Double knee surgery (I don’t recommend having both knees operated on at the same time)
  • 2011 – Spinal fusion surgery
  • 2010-2017 – Hundreds of radio-frequency lesioning procedures in my neck and back

It was not as fun as it sounds… I had to start all over, relearning how to walk and function like a normal human. I could no longer PLAY the sports I loved, so I began to watch. The more I watched, the more I analyzed. The more I analyzed, the more I felt I could predict exactly what was going to happen before it did.

I’m the type of person that needs to feel productive with all my activities. I realized I spent so much time of my new life watching and thinking about sports. I needed to mentally justify this passion by finding a way to monetize it. I began betting on games here and there. Usually on teams I was a fan of and tracked extra closely. I found success in this. Enough success over several seasons that the hobby turned into something much more.

I taught myself how to code in R and Python. I have completed a laundry list full of online data science courses from Stanford, Johns Hopkins, U.C. Davis, and Google. I have a degree in Economics with an Econometrics focus. I am currently pursuing a Master’s of Data Science degree from Northwestern. I started designing my own predictive algorithms.

One of the greats in sports analytics and data science, Dr. Thomas W. Miller, mentors me and this great passion of mine. Dr. Miller is the Director of Northwestern’s Masters of Data Science Program and author of the books “Sports Analytics and Data Science”, “Without a Tout: How to Pick a Winning Team”, “Modeling Techniques in Predictive Analytics with Python and R: A Guide to Data Science”, among others.

Sports became a true testing ground for my data science skills. Each week I found out how well my models performed. It took several years to learn and understand what worked and what didn’t. While I experienced the growing pains in the sports betting industry, without them I never would be where I am now.

The Origin…
Tweaking..
It’s growing… The current model is too big for my computer to print out.
Tested out all different types of algorithms

I have refined my process and streamlined my workflow. I’ve teamed up with the smartest people around and together built something we can all be proud of:
